Capacity Building for Maintenance of Meteorological Instruments and Early Warning System
  • Duration : September 6(Mon) - September 17(Fri), 2021 (12 days)
  • *Training Duration: October 29 (Tue) - November 15 (Fri)
  • Objectives
  • 1) To understand the status of KMA's duties and policies on prevention of natural disaster
  • 2) To understand how to manage and maintain meteorological instruments in case of troubles and failures.
  • 3) To strengthen future cooperation in the operational weather forecasting among the participating countries
  • Participants
  • 20 persons (Pakistan/Nepal)
  • Language : English
  • Venue : Participants’ workplace or home which has a quiet atmosphere and internet access
  • Qualification of Applicants:
  • Be nominated by his/her government;
  • Be in good health both physically and mentally, enough to take the course;
  • Have a willingness to show a high level of participation and commitment throughout the course and contribute to the capacity building of his/her organization after the completion of the program;
  • Have not participated in the same or similar KOICA Fellowship Program for the past three years, unless otherwise specified; (provided, however, that a key person for the course of the intensive performance management program, for example, may participate in the same or similar KOICA Fellowship Program, subject to pre-discussion with KOICA.)
  • (IT literacy) Have working knowledge of computers and related digital technology and perform basic tasks such as operating software systems, platforms and other communication programs (Windows, MS Office, email, etc.);
  • (Original place of employment) Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) of Nepal, Pakistan Meteorological Department;
  • (Position) Be a government employee: working-level staff (mid-level or higher) and managers;
  • (Relevant work experience) Have experience and theoretical knowledge of meteorological equipment and system operation/management;
  • (Language capability) Sufficient proficiency in written and spoken English to actively participate in seminars and write an Action Plan
  • (Official Leave) Able to be on an official leave during KOICA Fellowship program
  • Recommended: (ICT Literacy) Have easy access to internet.
